When I think about restoration, my mind automatically thinks about TV shows like ‘The Restoration Man’ which looks at restoring old wrecks of buildings to their former glory, or ‘Salvage Hunters’ where a few fellas with a van go around the country picking up antiques, which need expertise as well as love and attention, to make them shine once again (Before they sell them on for a tidy profit!!)

Admittedly I think less about relationships in my life that need restoring with other people. I wonder if you are the same?

2 Corinthians 13v11 says:

Finally, brothers, rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.

Who are the people you know that you need to restore your relationships with?

Maybe there are people in your family, people at school, or even people at church.

2 Corinthians 13:11 is a great reminder to us all that we need to work things out with others close to home, and especially with other believers.

Paul, author of 2 Corinthians, didn’t write this just to make his life easier! He pointed the Church in this direction for their own benefit. Once they’d restored relationships with each other, they too would come to experience more of God’s love, as well as come to the realisation that God has his own plans of restoration for his true believers.

Today, pray for God to help you love other people as you seek to restore your relationships.
