He MADE you so he KNOWS you

This summer on The Well we’re thinking about six amazing things God has done for us, starting with MAKING us.

Psalm 139:13 says: “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.”

God made us, inside to out. He knows everything about us.

How does it make you feel, to know that God knows everything about you? Is it scary or reassuring?

Write down a list of ten things nobody else knows about you: secret thoughts, dreams, fears. You don’t have to show this to anyone, it’s okay! Now look at your list and think about the fact that God already knows all those things and more.

I think that’s quite scary, knowing that all your secrets aren’t secret from God. But also it means we don’t have to be scared about him finding out the bad stuff about us. He’s not going to change his mind and stop loving us, because he already knows all the bad stuff.

Take your list and pick one thing on it. Now pray to God about that – ask him for help, or forgiveness, or whatever is appropriate. Don’t be scared. Ask him for reassurance that he loves you.
