Lichfield’s new bishop
On Thursday 15 September, the events surrounding the arrival and installation of our new bishop begin and YOU ARE INVITED to be part of it!
Nine days of prayer
Bishop Michael will visit all corners of the Diocese and walk parts of the Two Saints Way. Details of the churches he’ll be visiting, the events planned are here. Anyone is welcome to join Bishop Michael on his walk along the Two Saints Way.
Installation and Diocesan Eucharist
On Saturday 24 September he will arrive in Lichfield for the formal ceremony installing him as the Bishop. Later in the day, he will celebrate his first eucharist as Bishop. Seating at the cathedral is limited, and will be by ticket only. BUT both services will be live-streamed so that they can be viewed at churches around the diocese. Local hubs will be holding lunches and celebratory events in between the two services, so that everyone can take part.
Welcome of bishops and visitors from link dioceses
Many of Bishop Michael’s colleagues as well as visitors from Lichfield’s link dioceses around the world will be attending the events on Saturday 24th September. We hope that lots of them will visit other churches around the diocese on Sunday 25th September, to share news from the installation as well as from their home dioceses.
All the information about Bishop Michael’s arrival is on the Lichfield website and will be kept updated as more details are available.
