nine days of prayer: day five

Bishop Michael will be in Aldridge today, for a A Service of Praise and Prayer followed by light refreshments, beginning at 7.45pm in Aldridge Church Centre, The Green, WS9 8NH. Please let the church know if you are planning to attend.

John 15:18-21

‘If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

Remember what I told you: “A servant is not greater than his master.” If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the one who sent me.

Pray for Bishop Michael to follow Christ as his Lord and Saviour, no matter what it costs.
Pray that his loyalty and love for Christ will be greater than for anything in the world.
Pray that when opposition and persecution comes, he will remember how Christ himself was persecuted.
Pray that he will remain obedient to Christ’s teaching.
Pray that he will be a servant leader, just as Christ himself came to serve.
