nine days of prayer: day four
This Sunday, Bishop Michael will be in Wolverhampton for a service of Prayers and Reflection at 5.30pm at All Saints Church, All Saints Road, WV2 1EL (postcode for SatNav is WV2 2AW). The theme of the service is supporting Mission on the Edge and it will involve a shared meal provided by All Saints. Please let them know you are coming by email.
In lieu of a contribution to the shared meal, please consider bringing a gift of chocolate bars or toiletries which All Saints can use in ministry amongst sex workers.
Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbour bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such ‘wisdom’ does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
Pray for Bishop Michael to be full of wisdom and understanding.
Pray that he will show that wisdom in his good life, and in his humility.
Pray that his wisdom will be pure, peace-loving and considerate.
Pray that his wisdom will be submissive, merciful and fruitful.
Pray that he will always be impartial and sincere.
Pray that he will sow in peace and reap in righteousness.
