RESCUED: to praise God

It’s amazing news for us that God has RESCUED us. But the Bible tells us that it’s not all about us! 1 Peter 2:9 says:

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

WOW! That’s quite a list. Christians are chosen, royal, priests, holy, a nation, and God’s special possession. All of those are amazing and worth thinking about. But today we’re going to focus on the second part of the verse. God RESCUED us so that we can praise him!

I wonder if you’ve ever thought of that as the purpose of Christians? We’re here to praise God. Not just by constantly singing worship songs, but in everything we do, all day every day.

Can you think of other ways to praise God as well as singing?

How can you praise God today?

If you can’t think what to praise God for, try looking at some of the psalms for ideas, especially those at the end of the book of psalms.
